The current situation is that Jim Lupient Enterprises is ordering vehicles for fleet customers from multiple manufacturers. Status reports come to Lupient on multiple computer systems in multiple formats. Lupient's staff is hand entering data into an MS Access database in order to have a uniform point of reference. Lupient has no web interface for their customers so all customer reports and status inquiries must be handled by staff. .LP We propose removing much of the labor content of maintaining your database and providing a website that your customer can check the status of the order on a 24 hour per day- 7 day per week basis. We hope to accomplish this by: .IP "1." 10 Create the original order row (entry) by hand as is currently the case. .IP "2." 10 Exporting your MS Access data to a CSV text file. .IP "3." 10 Capturing status reports to files. Each manufacturer may have a different capture process. .IP "4." 10 Reducing the report to data. Merging the reduced data into the CSV text file. .IP "5." 10 Importing the updated CSV text file into access and replacing the old database. .IP "6." 10 Either re-export your MS Access data to a CSV text file or using the CSV file from previous step to your new website. .SH "WORK TO DE DONE" .IP "A." 10 Write programs to reduce captured data to CSV text file. There will be a unique program for each manufacture. .IP "B." 10 Documenting the recommended procedures. .IP "C." 10 Write programs to merge or integrate reduced data in CSV file. .IP "D." 10 Set up website. .IP "E." 10 Write Program to upload data to website. .IP "F." 10 Write web interface to manage customer access to website. .SH "IMPORTING ACCESS DATA:" .LP Microsoft Access tables can be exported into a CSV format. Putting the data into the MySQL database can be accomplished by way of a PHP script that handles file upload through the browser and inserting and purging data from the web MySQL database. .LP CSV file will be uploaded from the computer with ACCESS to the web site through a browser interface. .LP Database will be purged before uploading data. .LP Administrative functions will be protected by a username and password. uploading .LP .bp .SH "WEB INTERFACE TO MySQL DATA:" .LP A columnar or tabular layout which displays: factory order number, purchase order number, make, model, vehicle ID number, data ordered, quantity, and status of vehicles in the database. All fields will be sortable in ascending or descending order. .LP Customer name will be displayed at the top of every page. .LP Lupient Fleet Sales logo and graphics will be supplied by you if required. .LP Consistent layout between pages. .SH "USER CONTROL AND AUTHENTICATION AND SERVER SETUP:" .LP There will be approximately 100 unique customer ID, password, and company name records. .LP Apache module mod_auth_mysql will provide access control in conjunction with the customer table. .LP User access web site by logging in with a customer ID and password pair. .LP User remains logged in until they exit their web browser. .LP Customer ID, password, and company name are maintained on the web site. Tools would be provided to add a customer record, modify a customer record, or delete a customer record. .LP We propose doing the data capture, reduction and merging into a CSV file for $2,000 with a $100.00 per month support charge for the first three manufacturers. .LP We proposed doing the website design, programming, administrative programing and hosting for $2,000.00.
